With its clear, bright, medium cherry red colour and fragrant summer fruit aromas, this wine is unashamedly made for drinking relatively young. The nose is nevertheless unmistakably Cahors, offering red berry and blackcurrant fruit aromas, with subtle notes of cedar, iodine, roasted meat and leather, whilst the palate is delightfully fresh, fruity and full of gentle rustic charm. It combines sweet-sour cherry, raspberry and redcurrant fruit with a touch of meaty savouriness, a twist of black pepper and a sprinkling of mixed herbs, with bright acidity and just the right amount of tea-like tannin holding everything together beautifully. Light, airy and dangerously easy to drink, it really is rather yummy! |
