A limpid, ultra-pale gold colour. The nose offers quite an array of fruit and non-fruit aromas - peach, apricot, dessert apple and orange mingle with garrigue herbs, freshly-baked brioche, curry spices and a hint of star anise. The palate is at the same time refreshing and zesty, yet really quite full, creamy, and gently oily. Again, we have an abundance of peach, apricot and a hint of citrus, but also more than a hint of richness, in a baked/spiced, apple pie with buttery shortcrust pastry sort of way. After a while in the glass, the richness subsides a little, becoming fresher and more herby/spicy, with a commendably long finish. |
